Service – 100% Engagement
Every year, we as a church choose one area of spiritual growth on which we’d like to concentrate our efforts. In 2021, our emphasis was on prayer. Last year’s theme was evangelism. As we embark on 2023, we want to turn our attention to growing in service in our church.
Our rallying cry for this year will be “100% Engagement.” You may recognize that phrase from our 2019 NEXT Building Renovation Campaign, where we encouraged 100% of our church to be engaged in supporting the ministry of our church. Then, as now, the desire for full participation from our body extends to so much more than financial giving. God has called each of us to use our spiritual gifts, our time, and our effort to do “the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12).
In 1 Corinthians 12, the Bible teaches that every member of a local church is like a unique part of the human body. They all do different things, but they all do something. Whatever function they serve is for the good of the whole body—no part is unimportant. Every member is needed. That’s true of you as well.
So, what part do you play in our body? Where do you serve in our church? Our goal for 2023 is that every member of Desert Springs would be able to answer that question. You can expect to hear about lots of ministries—old and new—where you can get engaged and start serving. You’ll also hear testimonies and spotlights from volunteers who are currently serving in our church. And we’ll be hosting ministry fairs and introducing you to ministry team leaders who can help you get plugged into areas of need in our ministry, so that you can help us grow.
