The Christmas season will come and go quickly, and if we are not careful, we will spend entirely too much time focused on gifts, decorations and food, and neglect slowing down together to celebrate the birth of Jesus. The church commonly refers to the season as Advent, from the Latin word Adventus that simply means “coming”. As believers, this season gives us the opportunity to reflect on the grace of God in sending Jesus to earth as a baby. As we move into Advent, we want to encourage you and your family to embrace a tradition that recounts the favor of God in sending Christ.
This may mean a brand-new tradition or ritual for your family, repeating a previous tradition or the revival of an old tradition. Regardless of what you decide, old or new, our hope is that you will choose something that is easily accessible for your family and something that you will be able to follow through on doing from beginning to end. This list of resources is curated to aid your family in commemorating Advent together.
