“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.’”
Jesus’ heart overflowed with compassion for the helpless and weary. He did not rush to action; He first called His disciples to pray. Prayer is not the “least we can do”—it is the most practical step; asking God to intervene in the world’s deepest needs.
At DSC, we want to grow in our commitment to pray for God to save the spiritually helpless around the world. To aid us in this pursuit of growth in prayer this year, we will add:
Monthly Articles – We will inform your prayers through a monthly article in the DSC Weekly email, updating you on what is happening on the mission field.
Five Dedicated Prayer Meetings – We will be adding five prayer meetings to our 2026 calendar. They will be on Wednesdays in the months we do not have members’ meetings.
Commit to prayer as our foundation for missions!
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
Whether in our personal life or the life of the church, we know that our source of truth and guidance is God’s Word. That is why we will be adding focused missions teaching this year to help us as we pursue a greater emphasis on global missions.
Missions Equipping Class – We will kick off 2026 with the six core values set by our Missions Committee.
Additional Equipping Classes – Evangelism and Missionary Biographies will follow.
Added Members Meetings – This year, we will be adding two more Members Meetings, not only to accomplish more church business (like Elder appointments and adding members) but also for more time for inspiring mission reports.
Knowledge fuels passion. Let’s learn together!
“...they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us... for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part.”
Paul praised the Macedonian churches despite deep poverty, because they begged for the joy of giving “beyond their means” to support God’s people. Their secret? Gospel-transformed hearts that saw giving as a privilege, not a burden.
When you give to DSC, a portion goes toward planting and strengthening churches worldwide.
Missions Emphasis Week (July 26-29): Give toward Iglesia Bautista Fe’s church building so they can finish their down payment.
Your generosity helps us spread God’s Glory around the world!
“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations...’”
Jesus commands us to go, under His sovereign authority, and with His constant presence.
